Religious Education Program Announcements
For these first few Autumn months, we have decided that Religious Education will be a distanced program of prepared Scripture, resources, materials, and/or crafts/activities given to you for your family to do together, looking somewhat similar to last year for our younger elementary school children, and having a new focus and some activities for our middle school and high school students.
For our preschool and elementary school children, I will prepare Scripture, coloring activities, and craft materials related to feast days, themes of the season, and other important aspects of the Mass and our Church. Then, I can leave these materials in the Sacristy for you families to pick up, should you be attending Mass, or I am happy to drop materials off on your front porches.
For our middle and high school students, Fr. Bob and I will recommend a movie/documentary/TV show for you to watch together as a family each month. We will also provide some reading materials, discussion questions, and/or Scripture that connect to what you watch, hopefully spurring some reflection and discussion related to values we hold in our families and our communities and our faith, or anything else that resonates with your family as you do this together.
If you are interested in your child(ren) participating in and receiving these distance Religious Education activities this Autumn, please email me at [email protected], and tell me who you are, your child(ren)’s name(s) and age(s), as well as any thoughts and questions you may have. Our goal is to start at the beginning of October.
I look forward to the day we can do Religious Education classes again in-person; however, for now, I am grateful for the ways we can connect in our faith and our love for God and each other.
